The Maite Method

Direction begins with seeing the right detail.

Maite’s teaching begins by identifying what is actually happening, clarifying why it matters and choosing the next priority that can move your playing forward.

1

Observe

Look closely at posture, movement, sound, rhythm and the musical result—not only at whether the notes are correct.

2

Clarify and prioritise

Separate the main issue from secondary symptoms so that practice has one understandable purpose.

3

Practise and refine

Work in manageable steps, listen to the result and know what should come next rather than repeating blindly.

1Integrated teaching judgment

Experience translated into judgment

A professional life matters only when it helps you make a better next decision.

Maite’s background as a teacher, concertmaster, soloist and chamber musician is not presented as decoration. Its value is practical: hearing the whole problem, distinguishing cause from symptom and keeping technique connected to music.

Hear the whole problem

Sound, movement, rhythm and intention are considered together.

Choose proportionately

Not every weakness needs a larger programme or more exercises.

Keep music present

Technical work is judged by what it changes in the phrase and the sound.

Maite’s musical training

Maite trained in modern violin, chamber music and Baroque violin.

Her higher music studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, completed with highest honours, gave her three complementary perspectives on playing. Today, those perspectives come together in the way she teaches.

Royal Conservatory of Music, Madrid · highest honours

01

Modern violin

Maite’s core violin training developed the technical foundations, instrument mechanics and physical organisation needed for reliable, consistent playing.

02

Chamber music

Her chamber music studies deepened listening, timing, balance and musical direction—the elements that allow a phrase to communicate rather than merely continue.

03

Baroque violin

Her work in Baroque violin added another perspective on articulation, rhetoric, colour and historical style, helping her make musical choices more conscious and specific.

Teaching adults seriously

Serious teaching, without treating you like a conservatoire student.

Adult learners bring experience, limited time, strong reasons for learning and often a history of mixed advice. The teaching must be exact without becoming disproportionate.

01

Respect your experience

Explanations build on what you already understand instead of assuming a blank slate.

02

Use precise feedback

You should know what changed, why it changed and what to listen for next time.

03

Protect your time

Practice is organised around the smallest useful next priority, not a longer list.

04

Teach well online

Camera position, preparation and observation are treated as part of the teaching method.

Choose the right level of support

Start with the route that fits—not
with the most expensive option.

Maite’s role changes according to what you need: a structured sequence, a focused diagnosis or ongoing individual judgment.
